Mehndi is the application of henna, this is the temporary skin decoration in South Asia, Southwest Asia, Horn of Africa, North Africa, this mehndi became very much famous as well as fashionable from past 1990s, these are called henna tattoos, In some places, henna has its own name, whereas in Kerala it is known as mylanchi, this mehndi widely used by the Muslim community in this state.

Process of making Henna:

First, you take the powder of henna then add some water, add 5-6 drops of eucalyptus oil in it 2-4 drops of lemon then mix it without any bubbles in that paste, leave that paste for nearly 3-4 hours later add that paste in the cone which is made with polythene cover.

There are many ways of applying mehndi with the plastic cone or with the paintbrush, sometimes even with the metal-tipped jacquard bottle. This is used for silk painting, after designing the mehndi on the palm then it should be wrapped with the plastic cover by that it will be locked with the body heat, this will give you more intensive color on your body, after the whole night the final color on the palm will be reddish-brown. Based upon the paste type the color will be dimmed.

In Arab countries such as Morocco and some other countries in central Asia, Arabic mehndi designs will be done for special occasions, this will be done during the 7th month of pregnancy, in some weddings, there is a function for mehndi and all the relatives will apply henna on their hands and feet.
